Well, I've played a few rounds over the winter that I didn't post anything about and it's time to get back to posting.

Played today at Highlands, 35 mph wind and 44 degrees. It's still feeling really cold outside although it warmed up on the back nine. I was striking the ball well but I couldn't putt or score very well. So one of those rounds you can walk away from feeling you did some good things.

Pioneers and Crooked Creek aerated last week, Holmes aerated this week. I expected Highlands to be really busy but the weather must have kept the sane people away. The course was in really good shape. Greens feel tight and true, fairways are healthy. Very pretty.

Baby it's cold outside.  I used to like winter, I don't anymore.

Tuesday, Nov 2. Election day.

What a beautiful day to start off November.  Last year it had snowed before halloween and then got a little warmer, then slammed us with cold at thanksgiving.  Hopefully this year we get out at least once a month till spring.

I didn't have a great round, just another mediocre poke.  The driver continues to work well.  I'm having a real issue with putting, three of my last four rounds have been two 38's and a 39, kinda rough.  It'll work out, I just need to mellow out a little bit.  I suppose I could blame some of it on the greens, we've had frost several mornings and the greens are shaggy and not breaking very true.  Anyway, it was a beautiful day.

October 22 and last week on the 28th and 29th.

I got out on the 22nd at Pioneers, and the 28th, 29th at Crooked Creek.  The round at Pioneers was just really hard, it felt like work and I just couldn't put it together.  Then the next weed at Crooked Creek it just all slid together even in a lousy breeze.  My driver really felt good although it really doesn't look that way on the stats.  I would certainly like to get my putting down into the 20's that would really help.  Practice, practice.  I hadn't been to Crooked Creek in several months.  It's in pretty good shape considering the summer we had around here.  They're on fall rates which makes it cheap.

Well, after two bad rounds I got one closer to average.  I took lessons a few weeks ago and my instructor wanted me to work on changing a few things.  We have all heard when your changing things with your swing it takes awhile to get your game back up.  So I suppose it's completely normal to take a dip in my score.

My driver was still a little funky.  I didn't really get that much length out of it, but I stayed in the fairway most of the time.  Everything else felt pretty solid even though the statistics don't bear it out.  Just one of those rounds that feels good but just doesn't reflect in the score.
